About the Campaign
Monica here, and I have some good news! The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) has chosen me to attend its National Candidate Training in Washington, D.C. from July 27 to July 30. Contrary to usual portrayals of politics, new candidates usually attend trainings to help them run effective, efficient, and successful campaigns. This training is a grand opportunity for me to gain new skills to bring you a more effective campaign and break the Republican stranglehold on District 4.
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee supports local, state, and federal candidates through grassroots organizing. It fights for economic populist causes like , expanding Social Security, establishing healthcare as a right, and reforming Wall Street. Past endorsed candidates include Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressman Keith Ellison.
However, we have one problem: while the training itself is free, travel expenses are not. After I secured the optimal conditions for airfare and a lodging, the cost comes out to around $250.
As many of you know, I’m not a millionaire or billionaire. Whereas this would be pocket change for someone with a fat inheritance like President Trump, it’s a substantial cost for an adjunct professor in need of work.
This is where you come in. Even a $10 contribution would lessen the burden of travel costs. With your help, we can fight for true progressive values together and transform North Florida politics toward working for all. As always, thank you for your support.
UPDATE: I have received a housing scholarship, so now I only need to pay for airfare.
If you’d prefer, you can make your contribution through ActBlue instead.
